• Paintbrush: A high-quality paintbrush with a good-quality bristle is essential for cutting around edges and corners.
• Roller and roller tray: A roller with a nap length appropriate for the type of paint you're using is necessary for applying the main coat. A roller tray is used to hold the paint.
• Painter's tape: Use painter's tape to mask off areas you don't want painted, such as trim, windows, and baseboards.
• Putty knife: A putty knife is used to fill holes and cracks in the wall before painting.
• Sandpaper: Sandpaper is used to smooth the wall's surface before painting.

Now it´s the moment of truth and get the job done, but even for a professional painter like Leonardo DaVinci, it´s not as simple as just giving a slight stroke to the brush; it´s important to learn technique, understand the correct movements and procedure to ensure the best results, here we share some tips that have given us excellent results:

This technique helps prevent streaks and ensures even coverage. Start by rolling in a "W" or "M" pattern, then fill in the gaps with straight strokes. First, dip the roller into the paint tray, ensuring it's evenly coated but not dripping.

Apply the paint in smooth, even strokes, avoiding heavy pressure. While keeping the previous coat wet, apply the next coat to prevent streaks and ensure a smooth finish.

In the painting industry, we use the term “cutting in” to refer the method for painting between surfaces like, for example, wall-ceiling or shoe molding-floor. For this kind of job, a high-quality paintbrush is essential.

We recommend using angled paint brushes of 2”, and the best method to cut in is by applying a thin, even coat of paint along the edges, avoiding the main surface. Once you've cut in, use a roller to blend the edges with the main surface.

One of the most common mistakes that could happen is lap marks. For this, it is important to maintain a wet edge before applying a second coat. To achieve this, break down the wall into smaller sections and paint them one at a time.

It´s also vital to work quickly. Apply the second coat while the first coat is still wet to prevent streaks. If the first coat is starting to dry, use a damp roller to smooth out any unevenness before applying the second coat.
